It might not be your big day but trying to decide what to wear to somebody else’s wedding is always difficult. In search of some inspiration we decided to ask some of the most stylish ladies we know for their suggestions. Charlotte Olympia, Katie HIllier, Jessica Hart and Lucy Hutchings all obliged, along with some familiar faces from the ELLE team. Here's what we'll be wearing to the endless round of weddings this summer...

This is a great guest dress; a romantic print, a flirty/pretty hemline and a style that could work for city, country or abroad, and these heels will give the finished look a fashiony edge - best befitting some tanned legs. The fascinator may be dead but a hat is important – it gives your outfit a sense of occasion, even if it’s relaxed like this one.For the finishing touches a hard-working year-round clutch will add some glamour, and nothing beats a chunky cocktail ring to keep things modern and youthful.

I love stripes and this Marc by Marc dress is great for a day to night time wedding, no need for a second outfit. It’s super cute and chic and a fabulous party dress.I would (of course) wear a Hillier bunny love pendant to accessorise it. This Victoria Beckham clutch is perfect size for all an all day and goes from day to night effortlessly. And I would ask my friend Rupert to make me some Mirabel pumps, they are the chicest shoe around!

A wedding is surely a brilliant excuse to embrace bright and bold colours. The chiffon pleated skirt is really going to come into its own in the summer, especially in such an eye-popping shade, and flashes of neon pink will add some wow-factor. And for the clutch? This one’s not only stylish but big enough to fit a camera, make-up, phone – your boyfriend will be grateful…

Jessica Hart, ModelI’d pick out a long maxi dress in a bright colour like yellow or a bright floral print because weddings should be fun and bright – and you cant go wrong with Matthew Williamson. A good tan wedge is essential because you are going to be in those heels for a long time, and a tan colour goes with everything. And I’d add a few chunky bangles, a big hat and a clashing clutch.

Alice Watt, Fashion AssistantI’m not a typical pretty dress and heels kind of girl, so the prospect of picking a new wedding outfit doesn’t usually fill me with excitement. But this spring I have completely fallen for the Erdem and D&G inspired clashing prints trend- and seeing as I like to break convention by wearing trousers to weddings, I can easily translate this into an appropriate outfit. For accessories, I’d opt for feminine pieces in a light palette but with a grungy edge- metallic shoes and bags are my new favourite and will modernise and balance the pretty florals.
