For a pair of actresses, Saturday's tragic shooting in Tuscon was extra personal.
Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Sophia Bush had connections to victims of the incident, as the Country Strong actress is actually cousins with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, although the two have never met.
“Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting congresswoman Giffords, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as well as the other victims of this horrible act of senseless violence," Paltrow told Entertainment Tonight.

Tweeted the One Tree Hill star, who the second cousin of Christina Green, a nine-year-old girl killed during the attack that was born on 9/11/01 and who was the granddaughter of former baseball manager Dallas Green:
“There are no words to explain what my cousin’s family is going through in Arizona. How can this be? Violence is never the answer."
Jared Loughner has been charged in the shooting, while President Obama has called for a national moment of silence today at 11 a.m. EST in honor of the victims.
